Tea & Water
Optional additions
Method
Preparation (hot jasmine tea)
Heat water
Bring fresh filtered water to just below boiling — about 175–185°F (80–85°C). If you do not have a thermometer, bring water to a gentle simmer and let it rest 1 minute.
Warm teapot/cup
Pour a small amount of the hot water into your teapot or teacup, swirl to warm the vessel, then discard the rinse water.
First infusion
Pour 8 oz (240 ml) of the 175–185°F water over the pearls. Cover and steep for 1–1.5 minutes for the first infusion to capture the concentrated floral aroma.
Pour
Strain the tea into a cup. Taste; jasmine pearls are designed for multiple short infusions, so the first brew will be fragrant and light.
Subsequent infusions
You can re-steep the same pearls 3–5 times. Increase steep time by 30–45 seconds with each infusion (e.g., 1.5–2 min, then 2–2.5 min). Use the same water temperature for subsequent brews.
Optional finishing
If desired, sweeten lightly with 1 tsp honey or simple syrup, or garnish with a lemon slice. Serve hot.
Iced jasmine tea (alternative)
Brew strong
Use the same 2 tsp jasmine pearls but brew with 8 oz of 175–185°F water and steep 2 minutes to make a slightly stronger concentrate.
Cool and pour over ice
Allow the brewed tea to cool briefly (3–5 minutes), then pour over a cup filled with ice. The ice will chill and slightly dilute the tea to a proper strength.
Optional sweeten
If sweetening, dissolve 1 tsp honey or simple syrup into the hot concentrate before cooling so it blends evenly. Stir and serve with an optional lemon slice.
