Bloody Mary Mix

Spirit & Build

Method

Bloody Mary Mix

1

Combine base

In a shaker or large mixing glass, pour 8 oz tomato juice, 1 tsp prepared horseradish, 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 4 dashes hot sauce, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.25 oz fresh lime juice and 0.5 oz olive brine.

2

Season

Add 0.25 tsp celery salt, 6 grinds freshly ground black pepper and 0.125 tsp smoked paprika. Stir or roll gently to combine. Taste and adjust heat (hot sauce) or acidity (lemon/lime) as desired.

Spirit & Build

3

Prepare glass

Rub a lemon wedge around the rim of a tall highball or pint glass. Dip the rim into coarse salt or celery salt (about 1 tbs) to coat. Fill the glass with 1 cup of cubed ice.

4

Mix with vodka

Add 2 oz vodka into the prepared glass with ice. Pour the prepared Bloody Mary mix over the vodka. Gently stir with a bar spoon 6–8 rotations to chill and integrate without over-diluting.

5

Adjust

Taste once more and adjust seasoning: add additional hot sauce, horseradish, or a squeeze of lemon/lime if needed.

Garnishes (Filthy)

6

Skewer the filthy fixings

Thread 3 large green olives, 2 cocktail onions and 1 pickled okra onto a long cocktail pick. Add the cooked bacon strip folded alongside or perched on the rim. Place the skewer across the top of the glass.

7

Finish and serve

Insert a celery stalk and a lime wheel into the drink. Place the lemon wedge on the rim. Serve immediately with a straw and a small napkin for the garnish. Recommend stirring once more before drinking to re-integrate any garnish brine.
