Method
Iced Latte
Prepare espresso
Pull 2 shots of espresso (about 60 ml total). If you don't have an espresso machine, use strongly brewed coffee (60 ml) concentrated.
Fill a tall serving glass with 1 cup of ice cubes (about 240 ml volume).
Pour the cold whole milk (200 ml) over the ice.
Pour the espresso shots slowly over the milk and ice to get a layered effect, or stir gently to combine if you prefer uniform color.
Add sweetener: if using simple syrup or vanilla syrup, add 15 ml or 10 ml respectively and stir until incorporated.
Iced Mocha
Pull 2 shots of espresso (about 60 ml).
In the bottom of a tall glass, add 30 ml chocolate syrup and 15 ml simple syrup (omit simple syrup if chocolate syrup provides enough sweetness).
Add 1 cup ice cubes to the glass.
Slowly pour the espresso over the milk mixture and stir once to combine. Taste and add additional sweetener if desired.
Iced Americano
For a classic Iced Americano using espresso: pull 2 shots of espresso (about 60 ml) and have about 180–240 ml of cold water ready. For a brewed variation, use 180 ml strong chilled brewed coffee instead of espresso + water.
Fill a tall glass with 1 cup of ice cubes.
Pour the espresso shots over the ice, then add cold water (about 180 ml) to reach desired strength and volume. If using brewed coffee, pour the 180 ml of brewed coffee over the ice.
Taste and add simple syrup (15 ml) or vanilla syrup (10 ml) if you prefer sweetness. Stir gently and serve.
Notes & Tips
Use cold milk and cold equipment to prevent rapid ice melt and dilution.
Make simple syrup by dissolving equal parts sugar and hot water (1:1) and cooling before use.
