Preparation
- 1
Heat water
Bring 350 ml filtered water to just below boiling, about 85–90°C (185–195°F). If you do not have a thermometer, bring the water to a full boil and let it sit 1 minute.
- 2
Combine solids
In a teapot, French press, tea infuser or the refill container provided, place 6 g Brazilian yerba mate, 1.5 g Siberian ginseng root, and 8 g thinly sliced fresh ginger. Spread ingredients so water can circulate evenly.
Steeping
- 3
Pour the heated water evenly over the yerba mate, ginseng and ginger. Cover and steep for 6–8 minutes for a balanced, flavorful brew. For a stronger, more invigorating cup, steep 8–10 minutes. If using a French press, press gently after steeping.
Finish & Serve
- 4
Strain the infusion into a cup or refill bottle to remove solids. Add 5 ml fresh lemon juice and 1 tsp honey or agave if desired; stir until dissolved. If serving hot, serve immediately. If serving cold, allow to cool slightly, then pour over 6 ice pieces and serve.
- 5
Optional second infusion: the yerba mate, ginseng and ginger can be re-steeped once more with 300 ml near-boiling water for a lighter second refill—steep 6–8 minutes.
