Brewed with 100% Centennial hops from the Pacific Northwest and named after the Two Hearted River in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, this IPA is bursting with hop aromas ranging from pine to grapefruit from massive hop additions in both the kettle and the fermenter.

Heat 6 gallons of filtered water to 165°F (74°C). Add the crushed pale and caramel malts to the water and maintain a temperature of 152°F (67°C) for 60 minutes.

Mash

After the mash, sparge with enough water to collect about 6.5 gallons of wort.

Sparge

Bring the wort to a boil and add 2 oz of Centennial hops. Boil for 60 minutes, adding 1 oz of Centennial hops for the last 15 minutes.

Boil

Cool the wort quickly to about 70°F (21°C) using a wort chiller or an ice bath.

Cooling

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel. Pitch the American Ale yeast and seal with an airlock. Ferment at 68°F (20°C) for 1-2 weeks.

Fermentation

After primary fermentation is complete, add 2 oz of Centennial hops for dry hopping. Allow to sit for an additional 5-7 days.

Dry Hopping

Bottle the beer with priming sugar to carbonate and allow to condition for another 2 weeks before enjoying.
