Method
Preparation
Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Clean the mushrooms
Gently clean the crimini mushrooms with a damp cloth and remove the stems.
Season the mushrooms
In a large bowl, toss the cleaned mushrooms with olive oil, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
Prepare the lemon garlic butter
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Stir in lemon juice and chopped parsley.
Assembly & Baking
Fill the mushrooms
Place the mushrooms on a baking sheet. Fill each mushroom cap with the lemon garlic butter mixture and top with grated aged cheddar cheese.
Bake the mushrooms
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Toast the bread
While the mushrooms are baking, slice the crusty bread and toast it until golden brown.
Serve
Remove the mushrooms from the oven and serve immediately with toasted bread on the side for dipping.
