Method
Base & Protein
Carbohydrates & Healthy Fats
Add carbs and fat
Add 1 cup rolled oats, 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter, and 1 mashed ripe banana to the blender. The oats provide sustained carbs while the nut butter supplies healthy fats and additional calories.
Performance & Micronutrients
Add micronutrients and texture
Add 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed (or chia), 1 packed cup fresh spinach (optional), 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup for slight sweetness, and about 6 ice cubes to chill and thicken the shake.
Optional Add-ins
Add supplements or flavorings (optional)
If using, add 5 g creatine monohydrate and/or 1 teaspoon instant coffee or espresso for a mocha note. These are optional—add according to your training and taste preferences.
Blending & Serving
Secure the blender lid and blend on high for 45–60 seconds, or until oats are fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides once if needed, then re-blend for 10–15 seconds. Taste and adjust: if too thick, add 2–4 tablespoons more milk; if not sweet enough, add another 1/2 teaspoon honey or a splash of milk.
Pour the shake into a large glass or shaker bottle. If you plan to drink over a couple hours, pour into a sealable bottle and refrigerate. Optionally sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or a few chia seeds on top.
Consume immediately for best texture and nutrient delivery. If you included creatine, consume post-blend according to your supplementation schedule.
