Place the bottle of La Cappuccina Pinot Grigio in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving, or 30 minutes in an ice bucket with equal parts water and ice to reach a serving temperature of about 45–50°F (7–10°C).

Chill bottle

Open the bottle just before serving. Pour slowly into chilled white wine glasses to preserve aromas of mandarin and apple.

Peel the mandarin orange, remove pith from the segments if thick, and separate into 6–8 small segments. Reserve a couple of segments per glass for garnish and a few extra to release aroma.

Prepare mandarin

Wash the apple, core it, and thinly slice half an apple (about 4–6 thin slices). Cut one thin slice into a small fan or matchsticks for a delicate garnish and keep the rest for aroma inside the glass. If you prefer less sweetness, use a tart apple like Granny Smith.

Prepare apple

Place 1 mandarin segment and 1–2 thin apple slices into each wine glass. If using ice, add 2 ice cubes per glass (optional — ice will dilute more quickly). Pour approximately 125 ml (about 4 oz) of chilled La Cappuccina Pinot Grigio into each prepared glass. Gently stir once with a bar spoon to mingle fruit aromas without bruising the fruit. Garnish the rim with a mint sprig if desired. Serve immediately.

Finish and serve

For a subtly richer presentation, allow the fruit to steep in the wine for 2–3 minutes before serving so the mandarin and apple aromas infuse the wine slightly. Do not steep longer than 10 minutes to avoid excessive fruit sweetness or loss of acidity.
