Method

Cocktail

1

Prepare glass rim (optional)

If you want a seasoned rim, rub the lemon wedge around the outside lip of a highball glass, then dip the rim into a small plate with celery salt to coat lightly.

2

Fill the prepared highball glass about three-quarters full with ice cubes.

3

In a mixing glass or shaker filled with ice, pour 2 oz vodka and 4 oz spicy Bloody Mary mix.

4

Add 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice, 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 3 dashes hot sauce, 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper, and 1/2 tsp celery salt into the mixing glass.

5

Stir the mixture briskly for about 15–20 seconds to chill and slightly dilute. Do not shake (shaking makes it frothy).

6

Strain or pour the chilled mixture over the ice in the prepared highball glass.

Garnish

7

Skewer the two pitted green olives on a cocktail pick and rest across the rim.

8

Place a celery stalk in the glass as a stirrer and garnish; add the lemon wedge on the rim.

9

If using, add a cooked bacon strip or a pickle spear as an additional garnish for a savory note.

10

Give the cocktail a final gentle stir, taste, and adjust heat or seasoning with a dash more hot sauce, Worcestershire, or celery salt if desired.
