Dough Preparation
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.
Combine and Knead
Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the flour mixture along with olive oil. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
Let Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Sauce Preparation
Mix Sauce Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine the tomato sauce, minced garlic, and dried basil. Stir well and set aside.
Assembling the Pizza
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
Roll Out Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
Add Sauce
Transfer the rolled dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet and spread the prepared tomato sauce evenly over the dough.
Add Toppings
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by the sliced bell peppers, onion, mushrooms, and fresh spinach. Drizzle with olive oil, and season with dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
Bake the Pizza
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
