Cocktail

Garnish & Glass Prep

Method

Glass Preparation

  1. 1

    Salt the rim

Run the lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass to moisten. Spread the coarse salt on a small plate and gently press the glass rim into the salt to coat. Set the glass aside.

Mixing

  1. 2

    Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz tequila, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, 1 oz triple sec, and 0.25 oz agave syrup (omit or adjust to taste).

  2. 3

    Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the shaker feels very cold and properly diluted (slightly frosty).

  3. 4

    Strain

Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over fresh ice (for a rocks presentation) or without ice into the glass (for a neat/coupe presentation) using a Hawthorne and fine strainer to catch ice shards and pulp.

Finish & Serve

  1. 5

Garnish the drink with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Adjust balance if needed: add a splash more agave for sweetness, more lime for brightness, or a touch more triple sec for orange character.
