Chill the bottle: place the Moët Brut Impérial in an ice bucket filled half with ice and half with water for 20–30 minutes, or chill the bottle upright in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours. The ideal serving temperature is 6–8°C (43–46°F).

Prepare flutes: ensure champagne flutes are clean and free of detergent residue; rinse briefly with cold water and dry to avoid bubbles clinging to residue.

Open the bottle safely: remove foil and wire cage while keeping a thumb over the cork. Hold the bottle at a 45° angle away from people and slowly twist the bottle (not the cork) with one hand while holding the cork to ease it out with a gentle pop. Wipe the bottle lip with a clean cloth.

Pour: pour about one-third of a flute (90–120 ml) to preserve bubbles and aroma. Serve immediately.

Optional garnishes: place a thin pear slice on the rim, drop a raspberry into the flute, or add a lemon twist above the glass to highlight pear, citrus and light red fruit notes without overwhelming the wine.

Using a sharp knife or mandoline, cut one thin slice from a ripe, firm pear. Lay the slice across the flute rim or float it gently on the surface of the wine for a subtle pear aroma.

Use a peeler to cut a long, thin strip of lemon peel, twist it over the flute to release oils, and rest it on the rim for citrus aroma that complements the Brut.

Drop a single fresh raspberry into each flute for a hint of light red fruit aroma and an elegant visual accent.

Spread a small dollop (about 0.25 tbs) of crème fraîche on each blini or toast round. Fold a thin piece of smoked salmon and place it on top. Garnish with a small snip of chive and a light crack of black pepper. This salty, creamy bite enhances the wine’s minerality and pear notes.
