Preparation

Wine Bottle & Service

1. Chill the bottle

Place the Domaine Rolet Crémant du Jura in an ice bucket filled with ice and a little cold water for 20–30 minutes to reach serving temperature (~6–8°C / 43–46°F). Alternatively, chill in the refrigerator for 3–4 hours.

2. Prepare glassware

Select clean, room-temperature champagne flutes or sparkling wine glasses. Rinse briefly with cold water and dry with a towel to remove any dust; this helps preserve bubbles.

3. Open the bottle safely

Remove the foil with a foil cutter, untwist and loosen the wire cage while keeping your thumb over the cork. Hold the bottle at a 45° angle away from people, grasp the cork with a towel, and slowly twist the bottle (not the cork) to ease the cork out with a quiet sigh rather than a pop.

4. Pour properly

Pour about one-third full for the first pour to allow bubbles to form, then top up to about two-thirds. Tilt the glass about 45° while pouring to preserve effervescence and avoid excessive foam. Serve immediately.

5. Keep chilled while serving

Return the bottle to the ice bucket between pours to maintain temperature. If serving multiple guests over time, keep ice topped up and water level sufficient to surround the bottle.

Optional Garnish & Pairings

6. Add a simple garnish

If desired, thread a raspberry or a thin strawberry slice onto a cocktail pick and rest it on the rim of the flute, or twist a thin strip of lemon or orange peel over the glass to express its oils and drop it in.

7. Pair with small bites

Serve with light hors d'oeuvres such as gougères, smoked salmon canapés, or a selection of soft cheeses (Brie, Chèvre). Crémant du Jura works well with salty and creamy flavors; offer three to four bite-sized pieces per guest.

8. Presentation tips

Serve on a tray with chilled glasses and garnishes nearby. If serving outdoors, keep the bottle in an ice bucket and replace melted ice frequently to maintain temperature.
