Preparation

1

Prepare the Dough

In a bowl, mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

2

Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center, then add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.

3

Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

4

Let it Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

5

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

6

Shape the Pizza Base

Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into two portions. Roll out each portion on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

7

Add Toppings

Spread tomato sauce on the rolled-out dough, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and add your favorite toppings.

8

Bake the Pizza

Place the pizza on a baking sheet or pizza stone and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

9

Serve

Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil, slice, and enjoy!
