Poire Liqueur Ingredients

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pears

Wash the pears thoroughly, then peel and core them. Cut the pears into quarters and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Simple Syrup

In a large saucepan, combine the water and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has completely dissolved. Once dissolved, remove from heat and let it cool.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a large glass jar or container, add the pear quarters, the cooled simple syrup, vodka, cinnamon stick, and split vanilla bean (scrape out the seeds and add both seeds and pod).

  4. 4

    Infuse the Mixture

Seal the jar tightly and let the mixture sit in a cool, dark place for at least 4 weeks. Shake the jar gently every week to help the infusion process.

  5. 5

    Strain and Bottle

After 4 weeks, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean bottle, discarding the solids. Seal the bottle tightly and store it in the refrigerator.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the Poire Liqueur chilled or over ice. It can also be used in cocktails or desserts.
