Cheese Selection

Fig and Walnut Wine Preserve

Method

Preparation of Cheese Selection

1

Choosing Cheeses

Select a variety of domestic and imported cheeses. Aim for a mix of textures and flavors, such as creamy Brie, tangy goat cheese, sharp cheddar, and a blue cheese.

2

Arranging Cheeses

Arrange the selected cheeses on a large serving platter. Allow them to come to room temperature before serving for the best flavor.

Making Fig and Walnut Wine Preserve

3

Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine dried figs, walnuts, red wine, honey, and the cinnamon stick.

4

Cook the Preserve

Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Stir occasionally, allowing the figs and walnuts to absorb the wine and honey, cooking for about 15-20 minutes until the mixture thickens.

5

Seasoning

Remove from heat and add salt to taste. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
