Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place a coupe or rocks glass in the freezer, or fill it with ice water to chill while you build the cocktail.

2

Add 2 oz reposado tequila, 0.75 oz Aperol, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz agave nectar (or simple syrup), and 2 dashes orange bitters into a cocktail shaker.

3

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) to properly chill and dilute the cocktail.

4

Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosty to the touch. This ensures proper dilution and integration of ingredients.

5

Discard ice or water from the chilled glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or a rocks glass filled with fresh ice using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine-mesh sieve to remove small ice shards and any pulp.

6

Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim and a thin orange twist expressed over the drink (twist the peel skin-side down over the glass to release oils) and drop or place it gently on top.

7

Serve immediately.

Garnish

8

Cut a thin orange twist (about 1/2 inch wide, 2–3 inches long). Hold it skin-side down above the drink and give it a firm twist to release the oils, then run it around the glass rim and place it on the cocktail.

9

Cut a lime wheel (about 1/8 inch thick) and slit halfway through so it can sit on the rim of the glass, or float it on top of the drink.
