For the Coffee

Method

Brew the Coffee

1

Measure and grind

If using whole beans, measure 2 tablespoons (about 10–12 g) of beans and grind to a medium-fine consistency. Use pre-ground coffee if preferred.

2

Heat water

Heat 12 oz (about 350 ml) of water to 195–205°F (90–96°C). If you don't have a thermometer, bring to a boil and let sit 30 seconds.

3

Brew

Brew the coffee using your preferred method: - Drip/coffee maker: add grounds to filter and brew with 12 oz water. - French press: add grounds, pour hot water, stir, steep 3:30–4 minutes, then press. - Pour-over: wet grounds, bloom 30 seconds with ~2 oz water, then pour remaining water slowly until 12 oz total.

Prepare To Go Cup and Customize

4

Preheat the to-go cup by pouring a small amount of hot water into it, swirl for 10–15 seconds, then discard. This helps keep the coffee hot longer.

5

Pour the freshly brewed hot coffee into the preheated to-go cup, leaving about 1 inch (2–3 cm) headspace for adding milk or sweeteners.

6

Add milk (2 oz) to the coffee and stir. For a stronger coffee, reduce milk to taste.

7

Add sugar (1 tsp) or simple syrup and stir until dissolved. If using vanilla extract, add 1/2–1 tsp now and stir. Add a pinch (1/4 tsp) of salt if desired to brighten flavors.

8

Taste and adjust: add more milk or sweetener to suit your preference. Secure the lid on the to-go cup and put on an insulated sleeve if available.

Packing and Safety

9

Hold the cup upright while walking and keep the lid closed to avoid spills. Allow the coffee to cool slightly before sipping to avoid burns.

10

Dispose of used grounds and rinse equipment after use to keep your setup ready for next time.
