Roso Cocktail Base

Garnish & Finish

Method

Prep & Mix

  1. 1

    Chill glass

Place a coupe or old-fashioned glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill while you prepare the cocktail.

  2. 2

    Measure and combine

In a mixing glass or cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz dry gin, 1 oz sweet vermouth, 0.5 oz Campari, 0.25 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.25 oz simple syrup, and 2 dashes orange bitters.

  3. 3

    Add ice and stir

Add large ice cubes to the mixing glass until nearly full. Stir gently but thoroughly for 20–30 seconds until the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted (aim for about 15–25% dilution).

Serve & Garnish

  1. 4

    Strain

Discard the ice or water from the chilled serving glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or over one large ice cube in an old-fashioned glass, depending on preference.

  2. 5

    Express oils & garnish

Express an orange twist over the drink by holding the twist skin-side down and giving it a quick squeeze to release the oils, then rub it on the rim and drop it into the glass. If you like extra brightness, add a lemon twist as well.

  3. 6

Serve immediately and enjoy. Adjust sweetness by increasing or decreasing simple syrup by 0.25 oz in future batches if desired.
