Glass of Still Water

Method

Glass of Still Water

1

Prepare water

If you have a water filter, fill the pitcher or bottle with tap water and run it through the filter according to the manufacturer's instructions. Alternatively, use bottled still water. Chill the filtered or bottled water in the refrigerator if you prefer it cold.

2

Add ice (optional)

If you want your water extra cold, place the ice tray in the freezer ahead of time. When ready, drop 3–6 ice cubes into the glass depending on desired chill and glass size. For a standard 12 fl oz serving, 4 ice cubes is a good starting point.

3

Pour water

Pour 12 fl oz of the chilled filtered or bottled still water into the glass. Pour slowly to avoid overflowing if ice is present.

4

Garnish (optional)

If desired, use a knife and cutting board to cut a thin slice from a lemon. Place the lemon slice on the rim or drop it into the glass. Add a fresh mint leaf for aroma. These are optional and should not overpower the water's neutral flavor.

5

Serve immediately. Refill as needed.

Equipment care

6

Rinse the glass and pitcher or bottle with warm soapy water after use. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry or towel dry before storing. Wash the ice tray and cutting board as needed.
