Preparation

1

Prepare the Glass

Begin by selecting a lowball glass. Place the glass in the freezer for a few minutes to chill.

2

Dissolve the Sugar

In a mixing glass, add 1 tsp of demerara sugar and 1 tbsp of water. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved. This will create a simple syrup base for your cocktail.

3

Add Bitters

Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters and 1 dash of orange bitters to the sugar mixture. Stir gently to combine the flavors.

4

Pour the Bourbon

Add 2 oz of Old Grandad Bourbon to the mixing glass. Stir well for about 15 seconds to chill the mixture and combine all ingredients.

5

Add Ice

Take the chilled lowball glass out of the freezer. Add 4 ice cubes to the glass.

6

Strain the Mixture

Using a strainer, pour the bourbon and bitters mixture over the ice cubes in the glass.

7

Garnish

Take a slice of lemon and express the oils over the drink by holding it over the glass and gently squeezing. Optionally, you can drop the lemon slice into the drink for additional flavor.
