Method
Syrup & Carbonation
Prepare glass
Select a 30 oz (about 900 ml) cup or glass. If using a disposable cup, ensure it is chilled if possible to help keep drink cold.
Add ice
Fill the cup roughly 1 cup (about 240 ml) with ice cubes, leaving room for liquid so the final volume equals 30 oz. Adjust ice amount if you prefer less dilution.
Measure syrup
Pour 10 fl oz (about 300 ml) of fountain syrup into a clean measuring cup. This ratio yields a typical fountain-drink sweetness for a 30 oz serving (approximately 1:2.4 syrup to water by volume). Adjust to taste if you prefer stronger or weaker flavor.
Add syrup to cup
Pour the measured syrup evenly over the ice in the cup.
Add carbonated water
Slowly pour 720 ml (about 24 fl oz) of chilled carbonated water into the cup over the back of a spoon or down the side of the cup to help preserve carbonation and reduce foaming. Leave about 0.5-1 inch headspace at the top to avoid overflow.
Mix gently
Use a long spoon or stir stick to gently stir the drink for 5–8 seconds to incorporate syrup and soda without flattening the carbonation.
Ice & Garnish
Serve immediately: Serve the fountain drink immediately while cold and carbonated. Advise drinker to stir gently before sipping if syrup has partially settled.
