Fountain Drink (20 oz)

Method

Fountain Drink (20 oz)

1

Prepare glass

Select a clean 20 oz cup or glass and place it on a stable surface. If using a disposable cup, ensure it is sized to hold 20 fluid ounces.

2

Add ice

Fill the cup with about 1 cup of ice cubes (enough to cool the drink without overflowing). Leave room at the top for liquid and a small head of fizz.

3

Dispense fountain beverage

If using a self-serve fountain machine: choose the desired beverage, press the cup gently against the nozzle (if required) and dispense slowly until the liquid level reaches the 20 oz mark on the cup. Aim to stop a little below the rim to account for foam. If using pre-mixed bottled/canned soda: pour the soda into the cup slowly over the ice until the cup reaches 20 oz total. If preparing from syrup and soda water: mix to the recommended ratio (usually indicated on the dispenser) and dispense until the cup measures 20 oz.

4

Remove excess foam

If the drink foams up and rises above the desired level, wait 10–20 seconds for foam to settle, then top up more soda if needed to reach 20 oz without overflowing.

5

Garnish and serve

If desired, garnish with a lemon or lime wedge on the rim for citrus beverages. Insert a straw if using and serve immediately so the drink is cold and fizzy.
