1

Prepare

Chill a coupe or a rocks glass by filling it with ice and setting it aside while you mix the drink.

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker add 2 oz Bombay Sapphire gin, 0.75 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup. Add 4-6 ice cubes to the shaker.

3

Shake

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is cold and well-chilled.

4

Prepare glass

Discard the ice that was chilling the glass and, if desired, rinse the glass with a splash (about 0.25 oz) of club soda to lighten the drink. Optionally, add fresh ice to the rocks glass if you prefer the drink on ice; for a straight-up cocktail, use the chilled coupe without ice.

5

Strain and finish

Double-strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass using a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer. If you want a lighter, effervescent version, top with about 1 oz club soda. For an aromatic accent, optionally float a few drops of orange liqueur or another complementary spirit on top.

6

Garnish

Express a lemon wheel over the drink to release oils, then drop the wheel into the glass. Optionally slap a mint sprig between your palms to release aroma and place it on the rim.

7

Serve

Serve immediately while cold. Enjoy responsibly.
