Fit Turkey Wrap

In this original classic Pilsner, brewed in the Czech Republic since 1292, hops & soft malts roll gently over the tongue to a lingering, bitter finish.

In a large mash tun, heat 6 liters of filtered water to 67°C (153°F). Add the Pilsner malt and Carapils malt, stirring well to ensure there are no dry clumps.

Prepare the Mash

Maintain the mash temperature at 67°C for 60 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even heat distribution.

Mashing Process

After 60 minutes, heat an additional 6 liters of water to 76°C (169°F). Sparge the grains to extract the sugars and collect the wort in the brew kettle.

Sparging

Bring the collected wort to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, add 1 oz of Saaz hops and boil for 60 minutes.

Boil the Wort

With 10 minutes left in the boil, add 0.5 oz of Saaz hops for aroma.

Aroma Hops Addition

After the boil, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches around 20°C (68°F).

Cooling the Wort

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermenter and pitch the Pilsner yeast. Seal the fermenter with an airlock.

Pitching Yeast

Allow the beer to ferment at a stable temperature of about 12-14°C (54-57°F) for 2 weeks.

Fermentation Period

After fermentation, siphon the beer into sanitized bottles, leaving some headspace. Cap the bottles and allow them to carbonate at room temperature for another 2 weeks.

Bottling

After carbonation, chill the bottles in the refrigerator and serve cold. Enjoy your homemade Pilsner Urquell!
