Method
Prepare Glass
Build Margarita (common steps)
Measure and add blanco tequila (2 oz), orange liqueur (1 oz), fresh lime juice (1 oz), and agave syrup (0.5 oz) into the cocktail shaker or blender depending on style chosen.
Taste the mixture (if possible) and adjust sweetness with up to 0.25 oz more agave if lime is very tart or up to 0.25 oz more lime juice if it needs more brightness. Stir or briefly shake to combine if adjusting.
Frozen Margarita Method
Blend
Add the measured tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice and agave into a blender. Add 2 cups of ice. Blend on high for 20–40 seconds until smooth and slushy. Scrape down the sides and pulse if necessary to reach a thick, even consistency. Do not overblend or it will become watery.
On the Rocks Method
Shake
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice and agave. Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is cold and frosty.
Notes & Variations
To make a pitcher (4 servings), multiply base ingredients: Tequila 8 oz, Orange liqueur 4 oz, Lime juice 4 oz, Agave 2 oz. For frozen pitcher, add about 8 cups ice and blend in batches. For a fruit margarita, add 2–3 oz fresh or frozen fruit (strawberry, mango) to blender per serving and adjust ice down slightly.
Use freshly squeezed lime juice for best flavor. Adjust sweetness and strength to taste. Use quality blanco tequila and orange liqueur for a balanced, classic margarita.
