Method

Chips

1

Prepare the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 equal triangles to create chip shapes.

2

Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

3

Fry the Chips

Carefully add a handful of tortilla triangles to the hot oil, frying them in batches. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

4

Drain and Season

Remove the chips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. While they are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.

Salsa

5

Chop the Vegetables

Dice the ripe tomatoes, finely chop the red onion, and chop the jalapeño pepper (removing seeds for less heat if desired).

6

Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped red onion, jalapeño, and fresh cilantro.

7

Add Lime Juice and Salt

Pour the lime juice over the mixture and add salt. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

8

Taste and Adjust

Taste the salsa and adjust seasoning with more salt or lime juice as needed.
