Drink
Chill bottle
Ensure the Mexican Coca-Cola bottle is well chilled (ideally 38–45°F / 3–7°C). Cold glass and soda preserve carbonation and give the intended crisp mouthfeel.
Prepare glass
Select a tall glass or a chilled cola glass. If you want a salted or sweet-salted rim, run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, then dip the rim into a shallow plate with a mixture of coarse salt and sugar (about 1/4 tsp each). This step is optional.
Add ice and lime juice
Fill the glass with fresh ice (about 1 cup). Pour in 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice over the ice. Fresh juice brightens the soda and is traditional in many Mexican restaurants.
Garnish and serve
Give the drink a very gentle stir (1–2 rotations) to incorporate the lime juice without flattening the soda. Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim and serve immediately. Note: No refill.
