Method

Beer Base

1

Chill

Place the bottle of Modelo in the refrigerator for at least 2–3 hours prior to serving, or until well chilled (about 38–45°F / 3–7°C). For faster chilling, submerge in an ice-water-salt bath for 15–20 minutes.

2

When ready to serve, remove the bottle from the fridge. If serving straight from the bottle, wipe the neck dry and open carefully. Pouring into a glass is recommended to appreciate aroma and head: tilt a chilled pilsner or lager glass at a 45° angle and pour the beer gently down the side. When the glass is about halfway full, tilt upright and finish pour in the center to create a modest 1/2–1 inch head.

Optional Garnish / Serving

3

If using a lime wedge: run the lime around the rim of the glass or squeeze a small wedge into the beer to add a bright citrus note. If adding salt to the rim, moisten the rim with the lime wedge and dip it into a shallow plate of salt before pouring.

4

If serving over ice (common in some regions): add a handful of fresh ice to a tall glass, pour the chilled beer over the ice and garnish with a lime wedge. Note that ice will dilute and chill the beer quickly.

5

Enjoy immediately while cold. Store any unfinished opened bottle in the refrigerator and consume within 24 hours for best freshness.
