Method
Cocktail
Chill glass
Place an Old Fashioned/rocks glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice and water while you prepare the cocktail to chill the glass.
Combine ingredients
In a mixing glass or stirring tin, add 1 oz Malfy Gin, 1 oz Campari, 1 oz Cocchi Vermouth di Torino, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.
Stir with ice
Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir gently but thoroughly for about 20β30 seconds (15β20 full rotations) until the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted. The liquid should become clear and slightly viscous.
Prepare serving glass
Discard the ice and water from the chilled rocks glass (if used). Place a large ice cube or a few large ice cubes into the glass.
Garnish
Express the oils from an orange peel over the surface of the cocktail by holding the peel skin-side down about 3β4 inches above the drink and giving it a firm quick twist. Rub the peel around the rim if desired, then drop the peel into the glass as garnish.
Serve
Serve immediately. Sip slowly to enjoy the balance of bitter, sweet and aromatic notes provided by the Campari, Cocchi and bitters with the citrus-forward gin.
