Method
Cocktail
Measure 1 oz bourbon, 1 oz Amaro Nonino, and 1 oz Aperol and pour them into a cocktail shaker.
Add 3 teaspoons (approximately 0.5 oz) fresh lemon juice to the shaker. Use freshly squeezed lemon for best flavor.
Fill the shaker with ice (about 6 oz or enough to nearly fill the shaker).
Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is very cold to the touch and the outside is frosted. This both chills and dilutes the cocktail to the proper balance.
Express a lemon twist over the drink by holding the twist over the surface and giving it a quick squeeze to release oils, then rub the peel on the rim and drop it into the drink as garnish.
Serve immediately. The Paper Plane is best enjoyed cold and freshly shaken.
