Liqueur Mix

Method

Prepare Cocktail

1

Chill glass (optional)

Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill with ice water while assembling ingredients to chill the glass.

2

Add ice to a cocktail shaker until roughly two-thirds full (about 1 cup).

3

Pour 1 oz white crème de cacao, 1 oz crème de banane, 1 oz Baileys Irish Cream, and 0.5 oz vodka (if using) into the shaker.

4

If you want a slightly creamier/longer drink, add 0.5 oz half-and-half or whole milk to the shaker. Omit for a stronger, leaner cocktail.

5

Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–18 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold and the mixture is well emulsified and slightly frothy.

6

Dump the ice from the chilled glass (if you used ice water) and double-strain the cocktail into the chilled glass using a Hawthorne and fine strainer (or just a fine strainer) to remove small ice shards and ensure a silky texture.

Garnish & Serve

7

Float a thin slice of fresh banana on the surface or thread it on a cocktail pick and rest it on the rim.

8

Sprinkle about 1 tsp grated or shaved chocolate over the top for aroma and contrast.

9

Serve immediately. The cocktail is best enjoyed cold and silky; stir gently if it sits for a few minutes to reincorporate any separated cream.
