Spirits & Bubbles

Method

Prepare & Shake

1

Build base

Add the Casamigos Blanco tequila (2 oz), Ketel One vodka (1 oz), fresh lemon juice (0.5 oz) and simple syrup (0.25 oz) into a cocktail shaker. Add large ice cubes (3 pieces) to the shaker.

2

Shake

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is chilled and slightly frosty. This chills and dilutes the base to balance the spirits.

Strain & Top

3

Strain into glass

Strain the shaken mixture into a chilled large coupe or a chilled flute, using a Hawthorne or fine-mesh strainer to remove ice shards.

4

Top with champagne

Carefully top the strained cocktail with chilled Veuve Clicquot Brut Champagne (about 4 oz). Pour slowly to preserve the bubbles and avoid overflow.

Garnish & Finish

5

Express the oils of a lemon twist over the cocktail by pinching the twist skin-side down above the drink, then run the twist around the rim and drop it in as garnish. If desired, add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters on top of the foam/bubbles for aromatic complexity.

6

Serve immediately while the champagne is still effervescent. Provide a straw only if using a highball; for coupe or flute, present without straw.
