Cocktail

Method

Prep

1

Chill glass

If desired, place the chosen glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes to chill before serving.

2

Optional sugar rim

Moisten the rim of the glass with a lime wedge and dip briefly into coarse sugar to create a frosted rim. Return glass to freezer while mixing cocktail.

3

Make sure frozen cranberries are kept in the freezer until ready to use so they stay solid and keep the drink cold without diluting it.

Mixing

4

Combine base ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz Absolut vodka, 0.5 oz elderflower liqueur, 2 oz white cranberry juice, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup.

5

Add edible glitter

Add a pinch of edible glitter into the shaker. The glitter should be specifically food-safe and designed for beverages. This will create the shimmering 'first snow' effect when the drink is shaken.

6

Shake with ice

Fill the shaker with ice, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until well-chilled and slightly diluted. The shaking helps suspend the glitter for a sparkling effect.

Assemble & Finish

7

Strain and top

Double-strain the mixture into the chilled glass (use a fine strainer if available) over 4–6 frozen cranberries. Pour gently to avoid smashing the fruit.

8

Add soda

Top the cocktail with 2 oz of chilled soda water. Pour slowly down the side to retain effervescence and keep glitter suspended.

9

Garnish

Garnish with a lime wheel or twist on the rim and, if desired, drop 1–2 extra frozen cranberries on top for presentation.

10

Serve immediately. Encourage guests to gently swirl or give the glass a small spin to watch the edible glitter cascade like the 'first snow.'

Cleaning & Notes

11

If preparing multiple cocktails, scale ingredients linearly and keep glitter usage minimal per drink. Always check that edible glitter is certified safe for consumption. Adjust sweetness with simple syrup to taste.
