Cocktail
Method
Cocktail
Prepare shaker
Fill a cocktail shaker about two-thirds full with ice (use approximately 1 cup of ice).
Add spirits and mixers
Pour 2 oz vodka, 1 oz Kahlúa, 1 oz cold brew coffee, and 0.5 oz simple syrup (or sweetened cold brew) into the shaker over the ice.
Add cream
Pour 0.5 oz heavy cream (or half-and-half) into the shaker. The cream provides the cocktail's signature creamy texture. If you prefer a layered foam, add the cream last.
Dry shake (optional)
For a thicker, frothier foam, close the shaker and shake vigorously without ice for 10 seconds to emulsify the cream and coffee.
Wet shake
Add the ice back if you dry-shook. Close the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–20 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold and the mixture is nicely aerated.
Garnish and serve
Garnish with three coffee beans placed on the surface of the crema. Serve immediately.
