Cocktail

Method

Prepare Glass

1

Optional sugared rim

If you want a polished morning touch, rub a lime wedge around the rim of a chilled martini or coupe glass and lightly dip the rim into coarse sugar. Set glass aside.

2

Chill the glass in the freezer for a few minutes while you build the cocktail.

Mix Cocktail

3

Fill the cocktail shaker about two-thirds full with fresh ice.

4

Add vodka (2 oz), triple sec (0.75 oz), cranberry juice (1 oz), and fresh lime juice (0.5 oz) into the shaker. If you prefer a slightly sweeter, morning-friendly Cosmo, add 0.25 oz simple syrup.

5

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted. This aerates and polishes the drink while chilling it rapidly.

6

Using a strainer, double-strain (Hawthorne and fine) into the chilled martini or coupe glass to ensure a silky, clear presentation free of ice shards or pulp.

Garnish & Serve

7

Express the oils of an orange zest over the surface of the cocktail by holding the zest skin-side down over the glass and giving it a quick twist. Optionally rub the zest along the rim for extra aroma.

8

Float or drop a lime wheel or twist onto the edge of the glass as a playful morning accent.

9

Serve immediately while cold. Suggest pairing with a light breakfast pastry or fresh fruit for a brunch-ready presentation.

Notes

10

Adjust cranberry and simple syrup to taste to get the balance of tart/sweet you prefer. Use premium vodka for a cleaner, brighter result. If you want a slightly more tart, classic cosmo profile, increase cranberry to 1.5 oz and omit simple syrup.
