Method
Cocktail
Muddle
In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, place the 4 fresh blackberries, 8 mint leaves (reserve a small sprig for garnish), and 0.5 oz simple syrup. Gently muddle 6–8 times to release juice and oils—avoid pulverizing the mint into small bits; press just enough to bruise the leaves and break the berries.
Add spirits and citrus
Add 2 oz Spring Mill vodka, 0.75 oz St-Germain elderflower liqueur, and 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice to the shaker with the muddled fruit and mint.
Shake
Fill the shaker with ice (about 4–6 large cubes), secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well-chilled and slightly frothy from the fruit.
Prepare glass
Fill a double old-fashioned glass or Collins glass with crushed ice (about 1 cup). If you prefer a taller presentation, use a highball and add more crushed ice.
Double strain and assemble
Double-strain the shaken mixture over the crushed ice into the prepared glass using a fine strainer to catch seeds and mint bits. If you want a lighter, fizzy variation, top with 1 oz club soda instead of using all crushed-ice volume; otherwise leave as-is for a more concentrated cocktail.
Garnish and finish
Garnish with the reserved mint sprig (slap it once between your palms to release aroma) and a fresh blackberry skewered on the rim or floated on top. Serve immediately with a short straw.
