Pizza Dough and Toppings
Method
Preparation
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place it in an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Prepare the Toppings
While the dough is rising, slice the fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. Tear the basil leaves.
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
Shape the Pizza
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a pizza peel or baking sheet.
Add Toppings
Spread the sliced tomatoes evenly over the dough. Tear mozzarella into pieces and distribute on top. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Bake the Pizza
Slide the pizza onto the hot pizza stone or place the baking sheet in the oven. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden.
Garnish and Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, drizzle with olive oil, and scatter fresh basil on top. Slice and enjoy!
