Method
Berry-Mint Base
- 1
Muddle berries and mint
Place the fresh mixed berries, packed mint leaves, and granulated sugar into a cocktail shaker or a sturdy jar. Using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon, gently muddle until the berries break down and release juices and the mint is fragrant (about 30–45 seconds).
- 2
Add lemon
Add the fresh lemon juice to the muddled mixture and stir or shake briefly to combine. This brightens the berries and helps dissolve the sugar.
Flavor & Fruit
- 3
Add passion fruit and vanilla
Spoon in the passion fruit pulp (or pour in passion fruit juice) and add the vanilla extract to the shaker. If using fresh passion fruit, include the seeds for texture and visual appeal. Gently fold or shake once to incorporate the flavors (about 10–15 seconds).
Dilute & Finish
- 4
Shake with ice
Add the ice cubes to the shaker, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 8–10 seconds to chill and slightly dilute the mixture.
- 5
Strain and top
Strain the shaken mixture into two tall glasses filled halfway with fresh ice. Split evenly between the glasses. Top each glass with about 1/2 cup of cold sparkling water or club soda (divide the 1 cup between the two glasses). Gently stir once to combine.
