Method
Cocktail
- 1
Chill glass
Place a coupe or rocks glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to chill it.
- 2
Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz gin, 1 oz rhubarb liqueur, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup if you prefer a slightly sweeter balance.
- 3
Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup), cap and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well-chilled and slightly frosted.
- 4
Prepare serving glass
If you used ice water to chill the glass, discard the water now. Add 4 fresh ice cubes to a rocks glass if serving over ice, or leave the chilled coupe empty for a up (served without ice).
- 5
Strain
Double-strain the cocktail through a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer into the chilled coupe for a neat presentation, or fine-strain over the fresh ice in the rocks glass.
