Hugo Spritz

Method

Hugo Spritz

  1. 1

    Prepare glass and mint

Choose a large wine glass or stemmed goblet. Place the fresh mint leaves in the bottom of the glass and gently clap them between your palms once to release the aromatics, then add them to the glass. Do not over-muddle — just a light bruise to release oils.

  2. 2

    Add ice and St‑Germain

Fill the glass with ice until roughly 3/4 full (about 1 cup). Pour 1 oz St‑Germain over the ice and mint.

  3. 3

    Add lime juice

Add 1/2 oz fresh lime juice to the glass to provide brightness and balance the sweetness of the liqueur.

  4. 4

    Top with prosecco and soda

Slowly pour 3 oz well‑chilled prosecco into the glass to preserve bubbles. Top with 1 oz chilled soda water. Pour gently to avoid excessive foaming; stir once very gently with a bar spoon to integrate.

  5. 5

    Garnish and serve

Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim and a sprig of fresh mint tucked into the drink. Serve immediately while cold and effervescent.
