Prepare the Glass
Fill a rocks glass with ice cubes.

Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine the Maker's Mark bourbon, Angostura bitters, and simple syrup.

Stir
Add ice to the mixing glass and stir the mixture for about 30 seconds until well chilled.

Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into the prepared rocks glass over the ice.

Garnish
Express the oils from the fresh orange peel over the drink and drop it in as a garnish.
