Method

Prepare Fruit

1

Prepare papaya and banana

Peel the papaya, cut it in half lengthwise, scoop out and discard the seeds, then chop the flesh into approximately 1-inch cubes until you have about 2 cups. Peel the banana and break it into chunks.

Blend Smoothie

2

Add the chopped papaya (2 cups), banana chunks (1), and Greek yogurt (1 cup) to a high-speed blender.

3

Pour in the milk (1 cup). Add honey or maple syrup (1 tbs), fresh lime juice (1 tsp), and vanilla extract (1 tsp) if using.

4

Add ice cubes (1 cup) or, if using, substitute with 1 cup frozen papaya pieces for a thicker, colder smoothie. If using flaxseed or chia (1 tsp), add it now.

5

Blend

Secure the blender lid and blend on medium-high for 30–60 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth and creamy with no large fruit pieces. Stop and scrape down the sides once if needed, then blend again for 10–15 seconds.

6

Adjust consistency & sweetness

If the smoothie is too thick, add up to 1/4 cup additional milk and blend briefly. If it needs more sweetness, add another 1/2 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup and blend to combine. Taste and adjust lime for brightness if desired.

Serve

7

Pour the finished papaya smoothie into two tall glasses (about 12 oz / 350 ml each).

8

Garnish & finish

Garnish each glass with a papaya slice or lime wedge and 2 mint leaves. Serve immediately with a straw.
