Method

Preparation

1

Slice the Steak

Thinly slice the steak against the grain and season it with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, cumin, and chili powder. Set aside to marinate for 15 minutes.

2

Prepare the Vegetables

Slice the onions, bell peppers, and jalapenos. Set aside.

Cooking

3

Caramelize the Onions and Peppers

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, and cook until they are soft and caramelized (about 10-15 minutes), stirring occasionally.

4

Cook the Steak

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the marinated steak. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the steak is cooked to your desired level of doneness.

5

Add Jalapenos

Add the sliced jalapenos to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to soften them slightly.

Assembly

6

Assemble the Burritos

Lay out a large flour tortilla on a flat surface. Spoon a generous amount of the steak and vegetable mixture onto the center of the tortilla. Top with shredded cheese.

7

Wrap the Burrito

Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll from the bottom up to enclose the filling completely. Repeat for the remaining tortillas.

Serving

8

Serve

Heat the wrapped burritos in a skillet or microwave until the cheese is melted. Cut in half and serve with your favorite salsa or hot sauce.
