Method

Cooking Shrimp

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cooking Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the boiling water to enhance the flavor of the shrimp.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Once the water is boiling, add the 12 pieces of large shrimp. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Do not overcook.

  3. 3

    Cool the Shrimp

Remove the shrimp from the pot and place them in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for about 5 minutes, then drain and set aside.

Making Avocado Sauce

  1. 4

    Prepare the Ingredients

Cut the ripe avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.

  2. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Add 2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice, 1 minced garlic clove, 2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro, and 1 teaspoon of salt to the bowl with the avocado.

  3. 6

    Blend the Sauce

Use a fork or a blender to mash and mix the ingredients together until you achieve a smooth and creamy texture.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Shrimp Cocktail

Arrange the cooled shrimp on a serving platter and dollop the avocado sauce on top or serve it on the side for dipping.

  2. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Optionally, garnish with additional chopped cilantro or lime wedges. Serve immediately and enjoy your shrimp cocktail!
