In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Whisk together until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours or until well chilled.

Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually for about 20-25 minutes until it thickens and reaches a soft-serve consistency.

Transfer the churned ice cream into an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.

Once the ice cream is firm, use an ice cream scoop to serve one generous scoop of ice cream into a cup.
