Method
Preparing the Burger
- 1
Mix the Meat
In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey or Angus beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty.
- 3
Cook the Patties
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (73.8°C) for turkey or 160°F (71°C) for beef. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each patty to melt.
- 4
Toast the Buns
While the patties are cooking, cut the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
Preparing the Toppings
- 5
- 6
Prepare the Lettuce
Rinse the lettuce leaves under cold water, remove any wilted leaves, and pat dry with a paper towel.
Cooking the French Fries
- 7
Cook the Fries
Preheat the oven according to the instructions on the frozen french fries package. Spread the fries on a baking sheet, drizzle with vegetable oil, and season with salt. Bake until golden and crispy, according to package instructions.
Assembling the Burger
- 8
Build the Burger
To assemble the burgers, place a cooked patty on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Layer with tomato slices, red onion rings, and lettuce leaves. Top with the other half of the bun.
- 9
Serve with Fries
Serve the assembled burgers hot with a side of crispy french fries.
