Rinse the fresh fish and shrimp under cold water. Pat dry with paper towels. Cut the fish into thin slices and the shrimp into small pieces.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the lime juice and lemon juice. Add the thinly sliced red onion, finely chopped serrano pepper, chopped cilantro, diced tomato, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Add the prepared fish and shrimp to the marinade. Stir gently to coat the seafood completely. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or until the seafood is opaque and has 'cooked' in the citrus juice.
