Strawberry Daiquiri

Method

Strawberry Daiquiri

1

Prepare glass (optional)

If you want a sugared rim, run a lime wedge around the glass rim then dip the rim into coarse sugar placed on a small plate. Set the glass aside in the freezer to chill while you blend the cocktail.

2

Prep strawberries

Wash, hull, and roughly chop the fresh strawberries. Measure 1 cup packed chopped strawberries (about 4–6 medium berries depending on size).

3

Combine in blender

Add the chopped strawberries, 2 oz light rum, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 0.75 oz simple syrup, and 1 cup of ice to a high-speed blender. For a thicker, slushier texture use an extra 1/2 cup ice; for a smoother, more liquid drink reduce ice to 3/4 cup.

4

Blend

Secure the lid and blend on high for 20–45 seconds until the mixture is smooth and evenly slushy with no large ice or fruit chunks. Stop and scrape down the sides once if needed, then pulse briefly to finish.

5

Taste and adjust

Taste a small spoonful. If it needs more sweetness, add up to 0.25–0.5 oz additional simple syrup and blend again briefly. If it’s too strong, add a splash (0.25 oz) of water or a little more ice and re-blend.

6

Serve

Pour the blended daiquiri into the chilled prepared glass. Garnish with a whole strawberry on the rim and/or a lime wheel. Serve immediately with a straw.
