Frozen Margarita Mix
Garnish & Glass Prep
Method
Glass Preparation
Rim the Glass
Take two serving glasses (coupe or rocks). Run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass to moisten. Spread the coarse salt in a shallow dish and gently press the rim into the salt until evenly coated. Set glasses in the freezer or a cool place while you make the drink to keep them chilled.
Make the Frozen Margarita
Add the blanco tequila (4 oz), orange liqueur (2 oz), fresh lime juice (2 oz), and simple syrup or agave nectar (1 oz) to a high-powered blender.
Add 4 cups of ice to the blender. For a slightly stronger, slushier drink use 4 1/2 cups ice; for a looser slush use 3 1/2 cups. Adjust ice to your desired texture.
Secure the blender lid and pulse 2–3 times to break up the ice, then blend on high for 20–30 seconds until smooth and slushy. If the mixture is too thin, add more ice in 1/2-cup increments and re-blend. If too thick, add 1/4–1/2 oz cold water or extra lime juice and blend briefly.
Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity: add up to 1/2 oz more simple syrup if too tart, or another 1/4 oz lime juice if too sweet. Pulse to combine after adjustments.
Pour the frozen margarita into the prepared chilled, salted glasses, filling to the rim.
